wander child
Sometimes getting lost is the perfect place to find yourself.
My favorite travel movies:
1. LOST IN TRANSLATION (Japan)
Two completely different people going through different stages in their life forms an unlikely bond. Beautiful shots of Tokyo and its energy.
2. UNDER THE TUSCAN SUN (Italy)
Newly divorced writer travels to Italy and buys a villa in Tuscany on a whim hoping to start her life anew. In Tuscany she meets new people that teaches her about love, tradition, honor which makes her realize that we all have our own lives and we should live it.
3. THE BEACH (Thailand)
A backpackers' movie which gets a bit weird towards the end, but i love the soundtrack. Amazing shots of Maya Bay in Ko Phi Phi Lee and interesting perspective of Bangkok backpackers' district Khao San.
4. SLUMDOG MILLIONAIRE (India)
What does it take to find a lost love? A. Money B. Luck C. Smarts D. Destiny.
The film takes the audience through the different aspects of the life of an Indian boy born in the slums. The contrast between the magnificence of the rich and the struggles of the poor. The contrast between tradition and the future.
5. IN BRUGES (Belgium)
Two hit men lays low in Bruges after a job and gets to know the city and it's people. Showcases the beautiful sights of the city and different views of the two hit men about life and death.
6. PRICELESS (France)
One of the wittiest and funniest films i have ever seen! Location is beautiful, clothes are beautiful, a must watch!:)
7. BRICK LANE (U.K.)
I'm partial to this film because i used to love going to Brick Lane to eat Indian food and shop in the vintage stores in nearby Hoxton and Shoreditch. The film is about a Bangladeshi girl sent to Brick Lane to be married off in an arranged marriage and falls in love with their neighbor.
8. Y TU MAMA TAMBIEN (Mexico)
A film about two best friends who goes on a road trip with an older woman they had a crush on. Beautiful displays of the beaches of Mexico and its farm land. Different Mexican way of life also portrayed.
WATCH LIST:
1. MOTORCYCLE DIARIES
2. 7 YEARS IN TIBET
3. INTO THE WILD
